14 Troubleshooting
14.1 Troubleshooting
Trouble
The lamp does not come on (Lamp
illumination error).
The illumination state of the lamp is
not stabilized. (Lamp unstable)
The intensity of UV irradiation is low.
The shutter does not operate.
The equipment is hot.
Even if the lamp was replaced, the
"Lamp change error" message is
displayed.
The "UV intensity error" message is
displayed.
After the light guide fiber unit is
replaced, the "UV intensity error" is
displayed.
When should calibration be
performed?
Check and Remedy
(1) Is the lamp attached?
(2) Is the lead wire connected to the positive and negative sides of
the lamp?
(3) Are the lead wire and terminal connected to the positive side of
the lamp deteriorated?
* If the terminal is discolored, polish it with sand paper.
* If the lead wire or the terminal is deteriorated remarkably,
replace it.
(4) Are the positive-side and negative-side lead wires of the lamp
connected reversely?
* If the positive-side and negative-side lead wires are connected
reversely, the lamp becomes unusable.
(5) Was the lamp turned on again immediately after shutoff?
* After power resetting, turn on the lamp again after it has cooled
down.
If the lamp is not cooled sufficiently, the "lamp illumination error"
results, and the lamp does not come on.
(6) Is the lamp at the end of its useful life?
* When the cumulative lamp ON time is over 3000 hours, replace
the lamp with a new one.
(1) Is the light guide fiber unit attached?
* If the lamp is turned on with the unit not attached, the
illumination state does not become stabilized.
(2) Is the lamp at the end of its useful life?
(1) Is the lamp loosened?
(2) Is dust attached to the lamp mount?
* Dismount the lamp and check.
(3) Is the lamp at the end of its useful life?
(4) Is the light guide fiber unit soiled?
* If the lens is soiled, wipe it with alcohol.
(1) Are the operation section and the external control terminal used
concurrently?
(2) Is the shutter solenoid at the end of its useful life?
* Replace the shutter solenoid (consult with the store from which
you made purchase).
(1) Is the cooling fan on the back rotating normally?
* If a foreign substance is caught in the fan, remove it.
(2) Is the air intake into the equipment blocked?
* Keep the back of the equipment 15 cm or more away from a
wall.
(1) Clear the cumulative lamp ON time. (See Page 46.)
* The "Lamp change error" message is displayed when the
cumulative lamp ON time exceeds the lamp-change time.
(2) Is the lamp-change time not set at "0000" carelessly? (See Page
46.)
(1) Once conduct UV intensity check with UV control ON. (See Page
27.)
(2) Replace the lamp.

Execute, in the main, when the light guide fiber unit is replaced or
changed, and when the irradiation distance is changed.
