cooking topandin hoodoveroven.
Theexhaust s ystemfunctions only
whenthebloweris operating. T he
switchfortheexhaustsystem is
beneaththecontrolpanel.Forhigh
speed,pushswitchonce;forlow
speed,pushswitchtwice;andto
stopblower, p ushswitchonce
in sequence.
Whenbloweris operating andhood
overupperovenis closed,it
exhausts oversurfaceunitsonly.
Whenbloweroperateswithhoodin
openposition~t e xhausts through
openings oversurfaceunitsand
overovenat thesametime.

START FANATBEGINNING
OF COOKING.
To
open hood abovethe oven, lift
up handle at center
ofhood;to
close,pushdownonhandle.Use
hoodinits fullyextended position
whenever v aporor smokeresults
fromcooking, s uchas whenpan
broilingor fryingon thesurface
units.Seeinformation on useof
surfaceunits.
'IWO filtersarelocatedovercooking
topandonebehindhoodextension.
Filtersare removable forcleaning.
Filtersbecomesoiledovera period
oftime.Theefficiency ofyour
exhaustsystemdependson how
cleanthefiltersare. Frequency of
cleaning,or replacing, d ependson
thetypeof cookingyoudo, but
filtersshouldbe cleanedATLEAST
ONCEAMONTH.Also,frequently
cleanthegrease-ladensurfaces
adjacentto the filters.
Toclean, agitatein hot detergent
solution.Lightbrushingmaybe
usedto helpremoveimbeddedsoil
anddust.Withcarefuluse and
handling,filterswilllastfor years.

yourdealer.
Removeand ReplaceFilters

underedgeofexhaustopening.

possible,or removehoodextension
if desired;seeillustration below.
Placefingerson eachsideat
bottomof filter.Pressfilterto left
untilit clearstheholderon right
side,thenremove. W hencle[n,
replace.Pushfilteragainstclipat
leftandpressleftuntilfilterclears
holderat rightside,Pushfilter
towardopeningandreleasesoit
slipsbehindholder.
Non-vented modelsalsohavea
replaceableCharcoalFilterlocated
behindHoodFilter.Replaceas
neededwithPartNo. WB2X'XN2
available fromyourGeneral
Electricsupplier.
Theblowermotoris permanently
lubricated;it doesnot needoiling.

of hood extension, hook a finger
between spring and bracket at each
side and push towardcenter of hood.
This movespins out of holes in
bracket and hood ex[ension can
bc rcmoved.

Secureone sideat a time. Align
pin withholesin bracketand hood
extension,thenpushpin through
holes.Thissecureshoodextension
so it cannot be removed by mistake.
