Printer Maintenance

Head cleaning

When nozzle clogging is found in nozzle check, perform head cleaning. Head cleaning consumes ink.
There are several cleaning modes in this printer. Please select an appropriate mode based on your usage condition.
Short cleaning
Normal cleaning
Long cleaning
Little Charge
Initial Charge
Important!
Comply strictly with the following when you performing "Little Charge" or "Initial Charge". If charging is interrupted, ink will be
lost when charging is resumed.
• Do not open the Front cover or the Maintenance cover.
• Do not use ink cartridges that have little ink remaining.
Steps for head cleaning

Consumes less ink than Normal cleaning.
Perform nozzle check before and after printing, and use when nozzle clogging is found on
the nozzle check print.
Consumes more ink than Normal cleaning. When nozzle clogging still occurs after Normal
cleaning, perform Long cleaning.
Provides higher cleaning effect than Long cleaning, it consumes a large amount of ink.
*This mode cannot be selected via the "Cleaning" key. Select it from the Cleaning submenu
in the Panel Setting Menus.

Provides higher cleaning effect than "LittleCharge", but also consumes rather more ink.

Use the [Cleaning] key to select a cleaning mode.
• The "Cleaning Mode" indicators will change each time the key is
pressed.
Note
• You can alternatively do this via the printer driver or the VSM's
remote panel.
• The "Cleaning Mode" indicators will change as shown below.
