Use Tools to Customize Your Blackbox

The Tools screen is the home for global parameters that apply across presets. This is where
you can adjust the Headphone volume and turn on the metronome. Push INFO to cycle
through the available parameter pages. Turn a knob to adjust the value of the nearest
parameter.
Here are the available settings:
Parameter
Description
Brightness
Controls the brightness of the display screen.
Headphone
Controls the volume of the signal going to the headphones.
GlobalMIDI
This is used to specify which MIDI Channel is used to trigger pads and
sequences. If the channel selected here is also chosen as the channel
for a pad, the pad selection will override the global setting, and that
channel will only trigger the configured pad or pads. See the section
below on Use MIDI Devices for more information.
By default, this parameter is set to Omni, which means that the pads
and sequences can be triggered by any MIDI channel, with the
exception of those mapped to specific pads.
Compressor
When set to On, blackbox will apply a compressor to the signals sent to
Out 1.
RecToPlay
If you have RecToPlay set to ON, blackbox will automatically start to
play the new sample when recording ends if the Length parameter was
used for recording.
MIDI PC
When set to ON, blackbox will respond to MIDI program changes by
opening the Preset that maps to the specified program number. See
the section below on Use MIDI Devices for more information.
Remember that blackbox does not automatically save changes. So
when you change presets you will lose any unsaved changes.
Metronome
This controls when the metronome is used. Select OFF to disable the
metronome completely. Choose Rec to only use the Metronome when
you start recording. Choose Play to use the metronome whenever the
Play button is active.
Lead In
When this is ON, blackbox will wait 4 beats before recording begins. It
will display the count down as a negative number in the measure
counter in the top left of the screen.
