Backlighting

About backlighting
The screen and keyboard on your BlackBerry® device are designed to be lit so that you can use your
device in various lighting levels.
The device is also designed to adjust the backlighting level automatically as the lighting level in your
environment changes.
Turn off automatic backlighting
1. In the device options, click Screen/Keyboard.
2. Set the Automatic Backlight field to Off.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Click Save.
Adjust the brightness of the backlighting
1. In the device options, click Screen/Keyboard.
2. Set the Backlight Brightness field.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Click Save.
Set how long backlighting remains on
1. In the device options, click Screen/Keyboard.
2. Set the Backlight Timeout field.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Click Save.

Display settings

Use a picture as the Home screen background
1. In a picture list, highlight a picture.

To clear the picture from the Home screen, in the picture list, press the
