1. Brake caliper bolt
2. Lift the front wheel off the ground
according to the procedure in the
previous section "Supporting the
motorcycle".
3. Remove the brake caliper by re-
moving the bolts. NOTICE: Do
not apply the brake after the
brake caliper has been re-
moved, otherwise the brake
pads will be forced shut.
4. Remove the axle nut.
5. Pull the wheel axle out, and then
remove the wheel.
To install the front wheel
1. Lift the wheel up between the fork
legs.
Periodic maintenance and adjustment
2. Insert the wheel axle from the right
side and then install the axle nut.
3. Install the brake caliper by install-
ing the bolts.

TIP
Make sure that there is enough space
between the brake pads before install-
ing the brake caliper onto the brake
disc.
4. Lower the front wheel so that it is
on the ground, and then put the
sidestand down.
5. Tighten the axle nut and the brake
caliper bolts to the specified
torques.
Tightening torques:
Axle nut:
60 N·m (6.0 kgf·m, 44 lb·ft)
Brake caliper bolt:
[ECA22240]
35 N·m (3.5 kgf·m, 26 lb·ft)
6. Push down hard on the handlebar
several times to check for proper
fork operation.

Rear wheel

To remove the rear wheel
To avoid injury, securely support the
vehicle so there is no danger of it
falling over.
1. Remove the drive chain puller cap,
2. Loosen the axle nut.

and then loosen the locknut and
drive chain slack adjusting nut on
each side of the swingarm.
