against the brake diums. As the
brak€ pedal is released the braLe

rosether forcing the nuid out of
the cylinders and back into the
lines toward the oaster cylinder.
The
master
cylinder
may
be
'cached
by
removing
the
five
icrews in the inspection cov€r on
the toe board below the steeriDg
column. Kcep the master cylinder
.ese.voir full at all times. Usc
only heavy duty hydraulic b.ake
fluid. Check the Ievel each 1000
miles (1600 km.) and use care,
when .emovirg the fille. cap, that
no diit enters the reservoir. The
fluid capacity is approximately %
pt. (.32s lt.).
The hydraulic brake system
muct be bled wheneve. a fluid liDe
is discornected or air ente.s the
system due to low fluid level in the
mast€r cylinder r€servoir. A leak
in the system will be indicated by
a "spongy" pedal. Air trapp€d i.
the system is comp.$sible
and
does not pe.mit pressure, applied
to th€ brake pedal, to bc trans
nitted solidty to the hake shoes.
