2.4.5 Injection System
Injection quantities (total fuel quantity with or without pilot or post injections) are calcu-
lated under the Torque and Fuel System functions.
The Injection System function calculates injection timing and prioritization between mul-
tiple injections, fuel density, and finally outputs the actual desired injection time for the in-
jector driver.
If the calibrated injection timing for the desired fuel quantity and energizing time overlap,
the injection with higher priority wins. Main injection is always the highest priority.
Injection naming and order with base timing and quantity calibration parameters are ex-
plained in the picture below. All injection timing parameters are referenced to top dead
center (TDC).
