Gate at closure
If the encoder operates during the gate closing movement, the consequence is a brief reversal of movement, then the control
unit goes into STOP condition, disabling thus any automatic functions to make the obstacle removal possible. To resume normal
memory-stored cycle, send an OPEN impulse after having removed the obstacle.
At the fourth closing movement, if the obstacle has not been removed for any reason whatsoever, the gate stops without
performing any reversal of movement. The next movement will be performed in slow-down mode to enable new
memory storage of the limit switches.
By using trimmer "TR1" you can adjust the power of the motor. Variation of motor power also influences the obstacle detection
sensitivity. To be more precise, by increasing motor power, one reduces obstacle detection sensitivity and vice versa by reducing
motor power, one increases obstacle detection sensitivity.
Turn the trimmer anti-clockwise to reduce motor power, vice versa, turn it clockwise to increase motor power.
Motor power must be adjusted according to the characteristics of the gate, the weight, friction, etc..
Adjust motor power only after having cut power to the control unit.
Never perform the programming procedure when the control unit is powered only by batteries.
After having carried out the connections necessary for a correct operation of the operator and set the desired operating
parameters using the DIP-SWITCHES, before starting and using the automated system you need to perform a programming
operation to teach the correct operating cycle.
Instructions for the programming operation:
1.
Cut power to the system using the differential switch upstream of the system.
2.
Prepare the operator for manual operation as shown in the operator instructions and take the gate to about half of
total opening.
Re-block the gearmotor and make sure that it cannot be moved manually.
3.
4.
Power up the system.
5.
Press and hold down push-button PROG for about 1 second till the flashing lamp goes ON on steady beam.
6.
Send a total opening pulse using any pulse generator connected to the OPEN A input.
The first manoeuvre the gate performs must be closing. If the gate starts with an opening manoeuvre, stop gate motion
pressing the RESET push-button and reverse the two power cables of the motor connected to terminals "OP & CL" of
terminal board CN2.
When the closing travel limit device has been reached, the gate begins the opening manoeuvre till reaching the relevant
7.
travel limit.
8.
When the opening travel limit device has been reached, the following occurs according to the selected logic:
a–
With manual or step-by-step manual logic: the programming phase has finished, send an OPEN A pulse to end the
programming phase and close the gate.
b–
With automatic or step-by-step automatic logic: the control unit starts the pause time count. When the required time has
elapsed, send an OPEN A command, the programming phase has finished and the gate starts to close.
During programming, gate movement is slowed down.
For a successful programming, we recommend you not to engage, during the programming phase, any safety devices
(i.e. photocells) connected to the control unit.
In the event of a mains voltage cut and if there are no buffer batteries (or if there are flat batteries) the following behaviours
will be present when mains voltage is restored:
1.
Gate closed: at the first OPEN (OPEN A or OPEN B) pulse, the gate performs the opening phase in a decelerated way (reset
cycle). When the opening travel limit device has been reached, the cycle is complete and, according to the selected
function logic, it re-closes after pause time or waits for an OPEN (OPEN A or OPEN B) pulse to re-close the gate.
2.
Gate open: when mains voltage has been restored, independently of the selected logic, at the first (OPEN A or OPEN B)
pulse, it performs the reset cycle (opening in a decelerated way) but, since the travel limit has already been reached
no movement occurs and the reset cycle is complete. Now, according to the selected logic, it re-closes after pause
time or a pulse (OPEN A or OPEN B) is necessary to close the gate.
3.
Gate at rest in any position different from the two cases above: at the first OPEN (OPEN A or OPEN B) pulse, the gate
performs the opening phase in a decelerated way. When the opening travel limit device has been reached, the reset
cycle is complete and, according to the selected function logic, it re-closes after the pause time or waits for an OPEN
(OPEN A or OPEN B) pulse to re-close the gate.
As long as the reset operation is occurring, the control unit disables every connected pulse generator; only safety devices
are active. When the reset phase has finished, normal operation is resumed.
