SERVICE INFORMATION
When
removing
a cover,
be
careful
not to
damage any tab or groove.
»
AWARNING
Do
not
service the exhaust
system
while it is hot.
NOTE
Replace the exhaust pipe gaskets if the exhaust
system
is removed.
• Tighten
the exhaust
pipe joint
nuts
first,
then the mounting
bolts.
Although it is possible
to
weld
some cracked frames and straighten some frames that
are slightly
bent it is best
to
replace
the frame with
a new one when it is damaged.
Generally speaking, plastic body panels
cannot
be
repaired
and therefore
must
he replaced.
It
is
possible that
a front end collosion will bend the steering head of the frame, but
not
the fork, wheel or even
the axle.

TROUBLESHOOTING
• Failure of the front suspension, steering or
rear
suspension may damage
the frame enough
to
require replacement.

the section 18 of the Common
Service Manual for front suspension
and steering inspections.
Refer
to
the section
19
of
the Common Service Manual for
rear suspension inspection.
