Use only hard drives that have been tested and approved for use with the hard drive backplane.
When you format a hard drive, allow enough time for the formatting to be complete. Be aware that high-capacity hard drives can take a
long time to format.

Removing 2.5-inch hard drive from the rear bay

Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.

Complete the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
CAUTION:
To maintain proper system cooling, all empty hard drive slots must have hard drive blanks installed.

Loosen the thumb screw.

Slide the HDD assembly out and pull up to remove.

Remove the screws securing the HDD to the carrier.

Remove the HDD from the carrier.
