When finished, turn off the unit and unplug it from the power source.
Changing the Grinding Wheel (20)
MAKE SURE THAT THE UNIT IS SHUT OFF AND UNPLUGGED
1.
Take the top section off of the unit by removing the four Screws (13).
See FIGURE 6.
2.
Remove the Grinding Wheel (20), the Wheel Base (19), Fixing Plate (21) and the
Adjusting Screw (22). See FIGURE 7.
3.
Use two wrenches (not included) to loosen the Grinding Wheel (20) from the
assembly as shown in FIGURE 8. Note: The assembly is reverse threaded so
you will have to exert downward pressure on both sides. Be aware of its position
and exactly duplicate it with the new wheel.
4.
Replace the Grinding Wheel (20). Grinding wheels are available from Harbor
Freight Tools. Re-assemble the Grinding Wheel (20), the Wheel Base (19),
Fixing Plate (21) and the Adjusting Screw (22). Replace the assembly and screw
on the top of the unit.

INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING
1.
WARNING! Make sure the Switch (5) of the Sharpener is in its "OFF" posi-
tion and that the tool is unplugged from its electrical outlet before performing any
inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures.
2.
BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the Sharpener. Check for
loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts,
damaged electrical wiring, and any other condition that may affect its safe opera-
tion. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected by a
qualified technician before further use. Do not use damaged equipment.
3.
Wipe down the unit with a lint free cloth.
4.
Make sure the air vents are free of foreign matter at all times.
