Fan/heat sink assembly

Description
Fan/heat sink assembly (includes fan cables and replacement thermal material)
Before removing the fan/heat sink assembly, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer
on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

Remove the bottom cover (see

Remove the system board (see
Remove the fan/heat sink assembly:
1.
Disconnect the fan cables (1) from the system board.
2.
Loosen the four Phillips M2.0×5.8 captive screws (2) that secure the fan/heat sink assembly to
the system board.
3.
Loosen the four Phillips M2.0×3.4 captive screws (3) that secure the fan/heat sink assembly to
the system board.
4.
Remove the fan/heat sink assembly (4).
