The character delay time defines the maximum amount of time permitted between two
incoming characters within a message frame.

This parameter defines the maximum number of attempts the CP is
allowed in order to establish a connection. After an unsuccessful attempt,
the procedure will be aborted and the error displayed in the STATUS output
of the FB.
