Operation
Important: The following steps must be
performed while the door is open.
1) Turn the outside thumbturn to the
left (counterclockwise) until it stops,
then release it.
2) Press the preset factory combination
(2 and 4 pressed together, release, then 3,
and release). A distinctive click must be
felt to indicate that the buttons have been
correctly depressed.
3) Turn the outside thumbturn to the right
(clockwise) until it stops (see Figure 7-1);
the latch should retract fully. If the latch
does not retract, turn the thumbturn to
the left counterclockwise until it stops,
release, and repeat Step 2.
Note: From the outside, the only
way to retract the latch is to turn the
thumbturn clockwise.
4) Release the outside thumbturn; the latch
will return to its initial completely
extended position.
5) Turn the inside thumbturn to the left
(counterclockwise) until it stops; the latch
will retract as in Step 3. Release it
and the latch will return to its initial
completely extended position.
Note: The inside thumbturn may be
turned to the right (clockwise) to keep
the latch retracted. Turn the thumbturn
to the left to bring the latch back to
its normal extended position.
6) If the latch does not retract completely,
unscrew the four screws (F) (see
Figures 6-2 & 7-2) and remove the latch.
Loosen the two thru-bolts (D) on the
reinforcing plate (see Figure 6-2). Move
the plate up or down, tighten the thru-bolts
(D), and remount the latch with the four
screws (F). Check the latch's retraction
again and repeat this operation as needed,
until the latch completely retracts.

Importante: Ejecute los pasos descritos
a continuación con la puerta abierta.
1) Haga girar la manija exterior hacia
la izquierda (en sentido contrario al de las
agujas de reloj) hasta que llegue al tope
y suéltela.
2) Oprima la combinación de fábrica (2 y 4
al mismo tiempo, suelte, luego oprima
3 y suelte). Deberá oir un chasquido
claro que indique que los botones se
oprimieron correctamente.
3) Haga girar la manija exterior hacia la derecha
(en el sentido de las agujas de reloj) hasta que
llegue al tope; el pestillo debería replegarse
completamente (véase la ilustración 7-1).
Si el pestillo no se repliega, gire la manija
hacia la izquierda (en sentido contrario al de
las agujas de reloj) hasta que se detenga.
Suelte la manija y repita el paso 2.
Observación: Desde afuera, la única
manera de replegar el pestillo es haciendo
girar la manija hacia la derecha.
4) Suelte la manija exterior, el pestillo volverá
a su posición inicial, completamente extendida.
5) Haga girar la manija interior hacia
la izquierda hasta que llegue al tope;
el pestillo volverá a su posición como
en elpaso 3. Suéltela y el pestillo volverá a
su posición totalmente extendida inicial.
Observación: La manija interior puede
girarse a la derecha para mantener
el pestillo retraído. Haga girar la manija
hacia la izquierda para que el pestillo
vuelva a su posición extendida normal.
6) Si el pestillo no se repliega completamente,
saque los cuatro tornillos (F) (ver
ilustraciones 6-2 y 7-2) y quite el pestillo.
