Direct Keypad Dialing
If you do not need to talk with the other party before sending the fax, you can just dial;
it isn't necessary to pick up the handset or press the SPEAKER key.
Direct Keypad Dialing is a form of automatic dialing, so if you need to insert a pause
between any digits of the number, press the REDIAL key. (For more information on
pauses, see "Storing Numbers for Automatic Dialing" in Chapter 2.)
When using Direct Keypad Dialing, you do not have to load the document before di-
aling. You can load the document after completing Step 1 below.

Rapid Key Dialing
If the number you want to dial has been stored as a Rapid Key number (see "Storing
Numbers for Automatic Dialing" in Chapter 2), you can dial it by pressing the
appropriate Rapid Key.

BASIC OPERATIONS
When you hear the reception tone,
press the START key. Replace the
handset if you used it.
When transmission is completed, the
fax will beep.
Enter the number of the receiving
machine by pressing the number keys.
Check the display. If the number of
the receiving machine shown is
correct, press the START key.
If it is not correct, press the STOP key
to backspace and clear one digit at a
time, and then re-enter the correct
digit(s).
Press the appropriate Rapid Key.
The name of the receiving party will ap-
pear in the display. If no name was
stored, the fax number will appear. (If
the name or number is incorrect, press
the STOP key.)
The document will be automatically
transmitted once the connection is
made.
