The following procedure applies to the E-Plex 30xx locks only:
PROCEDURE 19 - SWINGBOLT OPERATION
This ope 4.ration is similar to the 4. Privacy function of a conve 4.ntional lock with a
physical de 4.adbolt, but not quite 4.! In the 4. E-Ple 4.x 3000 Swinbolt ope 4.ration, any
valid use 4.r can dise 4.ngage 4., ie 4. ., ove 4.rride 4. the 4. "privacy" by e 4.nte 4.ring a valid PIN and
the 4.n turning the 4. thumbturn which will re 4.tract the 4. swingbolt down . Now the 4. lock
will be 4.have 4. as though it is in a "latch holdback" mode 4. since 4. the 4. swingbolt is
comple 4.te 4.ly re 4.tracte 4.d and stays re 4.tracte 4.d, thus allowing fre 4.e 4. acce 4.ss without any
code 4.s . You pe 4.rform the 4. same 4. se 4.que 4.nce 4. of ope 4.rations to e 4.ngage 4., ie 4. ., re 4.-lock by
bringing the 4. swingbolt back to its "home 4." (horizontal locke 4.d) position .

manually re 4.tract or e 4.ngage 4. the 4. swingbolt to unlock or lock the 4. door .
Required User Level: Master, Manager, Access user & Service user
1 . To Disengage (retract swingbolt): Ente 4.r a valid PIN to ope 4.n and the 4. lock will
flash the 4. gre 4.e 4.n LED indicating that you are 4. a valid use 4.r and you are 4. allowe 4.d
to dise 4.ngage 4. the 4. swingbolt to unlock . Turn the 4. thumbturn on the 4. lock front
housing clockwise 4. and hold . The 4. swingbolt will fully re 4.tract down and will
stay re 4.tracte 4.d, allowing you to e 4.nte 4.r the 4. door . Le 4.t go off the 4. thumbturn so
that it will re 4.ve 4.rt back to its normal horizontal (home 4.) position but the 4. swing-
bolt will stay re 4.tracte 4.d and dise 4.ngage 4.d .
2 . You can also dise 4.ngage 4. the 4. swingbolt using the 4. mechanical override key by
pe 4.rforming the 4. following ope 4.ration: inse 4.rt the 4. me 4.chanical ke 4.y in the 4. lock
ove 4.rride 4. cylinde 4.r's ve 4.rtical slit and turn it clockwise 4. to the 4. horizontal position .
With the key still in this horizontal position, turn the 4. thumbturn clockwise 4.
to dise 4.ngage 4. the 4. swingbolt which will fully re 4.tract down and will stay re 4.tract-
e 4.d . Le 4.t go off the 4. thumbturn so that it will re 4.ve 4.rt back to its normal horizon-
tal (home 4.) position . Turn the 4. ke 4.y back to its ve 4.rtical position and re 4.move 4. it
from the 4. lock cylinde 4.r .
3 . To Engage (project swingbolt): This proce 4.dure 4. is almost the 4. same 4. as in Ste 4.p
1 above 4. . Ente 4.r a valid PIN and the 4. lock will flash the 4. gre 4.e 4.n LED indicating that
you are 4. a valid use 4.r and you are 4. allowe 4.d to e 4.ngage 4. the 4. swingbolt to lock
back . Turn the 4. thumbturn on the 4. lock front housing clockwise 4. and hold . The 4.
swingbolt will re 4.ve 4.rt back up to its locke 4.d, horizontal (home 4.) position . Le 4.t go
off the 4. thumbturn so that it will also re 4.ve 4.rt back to its normal horizontal
(home 4.) position .
