Any time that the unit is going t o be shut down for an extended
period of time , includi ng summer shutdown, ALWAYS drain down the
cylinder before dis co nnecting power. Ot herwise , the elec trodes are
s ub ject to harmfu l corrosion .
REM OVING THE CYL INDER
1 . Turn off the water suppl y to the unit.
2. The old cylinder must be drained completely before removina.
This is done
by
pushing the auto o n/ of f dra in switch to t he
"drain
P
position.
3. when completely drai ned , push th e aut%n/off drain switch to
the "off " positio n.
4. Open the main disconnect during t h e entire cylinde r cha ng e
o peration.
5 . The power wires to the cyli nder are attached b y cy l i nder plugs
to t he electrode pins on top of the cyli nder. Pull these plugs
vertically off t he pins . (See Figure 20).
6. Using slot screw dr i ver , loosen the steam hose cl amp (s) and
pull steam hose off vertically .
7 . The cylinder is now read y to be lifted o u t of the unit. (See
Figure 21 ).
