Problem

Clogged inlet strainer (12).
Air leak in suction tube.
Suction tube too close to tank
bottom.
Tank empty.
Tank not vented.
Worn or damaged gears.
Damaged motor.
Clogged suction tube, hose, or
nozzle.
Bypass relief valve is stuck.
Low supply voltage.
Gears damaged and binding.
Faulty motor.
Gears binding.
Operating pump extended time
with nozzle closed.
Clogged strainer.
Clogged suction tube, hose, or
nozzle.
Operating pump more than 30
minutes continuous duty.
Blown fuse or circuit breaker.
Electrical problem.
Defective switch (model
260240).
Damaged or defective motor.
Troubleshooting
Solution
Clean or replace.
Check to make sure all joints in
suction tube are sealed.
Suction tube must have a 2 in.
(51 mm) minimum clearance.
Refill tank.
Tank must be vented to atmo-
sphere.
Remove cover and inspect
gears. Replace if worn or
damaged.
Replace motor.
Inspect and clean.
Inspect relief valve, making
sure ball is free. Replace if
damaged.
Check supply voltage.
Inspect gears. Gears should
turn freely. Replace if dam-
aged.
Replace motor.
Check to make sure gears turn
freely on shaft.
Do not exceed 5 minutes of
operation with nozzle closed.
Clean or replace.
Inspect and clean if required.
Limit operation to 30 minutes
per hour.
Replace fuse or reset breaker.
Check that supply voltage is
proper to the pump motor.
Check and replace if defective.
Check motor, replace if dam-
aged or defective.
