If there are any problems during installation and operation, please try to solve them by the following
suggestions. If they cannot be solved, please contact Raisecom Technology or distributors for help.
The following explanations and solutions for optical port alarms and E1 LOS alarms are used to handle local
alarm problems. For remote-end alarms, please handle them at the remote site.
Power indicator (PWR) off
Please check if there is any fault with power supply
LOS indicator of optical port is on red
Loss of receive signals occurs at the optical port. Please check whether the input fiber (RX) is
connected properly and ensure it is not reversely connected. And check the receiving optical
power with optical power test-meter, which shall be bigger than the index of receiving sensitivity.
LOF indicator of optical port is on red
Loss of frame of optical RX signal, check the receiving optical power with optical power test-meter,
which shall be bigger than the index of receiving sensitivity.
ERR indicator of optical port is on red
1E-3 or 1E-6 bit error alarm of RX signal, check the receiving optical power with optical power
test-meter, which shall be bigger than the index of receiving sensitivity.
AIS indicator is on yellow
All the receiving data of optic is '1', check the whole link quality, and confirm non-stop on the traffic.
LOF or CRC indicator of V.35 port is on red
G.704 frame loss or CRC4 error on the inner E1 channel, please check the framing format and link
quality of the whole link.
PAT indicator of Test result is not stable when build-in Bit Error Test and Loopback enable
At first, please make sure the fiber line link is connecting correct, and make sure there is no
loopback configuration in the remote unit. At the begging of power on, the modem will initial Bit
error test system in 15 seconds. Normally PWR/PAT is not stable in this process. After 15 seconds,
the PWR/PAT could indicate result of testing.
Packet loss
It might because the following conditions:
There is more than one clock source in the network;
Check the status of router's V35 interface, if there is RX/TX data error, please adjust RX CLK
phase of local and remote device.
When there is conflict between network management software and hardware DIP-switches,
whose priority is higher?
The DIP switches status shall be read only once by CPU when module power on, and then, SNMP
management software has higher priority to setup.
Compatibility with other vender's production
This modem is based on PDH fiber technologies, so it can not work in pair with other
manufactory's modem on the other site, but could be ok of RC85X series modem or any other fiber
optical multiplexer from Raisecom after confirmation.
