Troubleshooting Guide

Problem
Possible Cause
Boat will not respond to
throttle but responds to
Throttle channel is reversed
other controls
Damaged propeller, shaft or motor
Propeller is out of balance
Extra noise or extra
vibration
Boat squeals or makes a high pitch sound when
applying power to motors
Boat battery charge is low
Boat battery is damaged
Blocking or friction on shaft or propeller
Boat conditions may be too cold
Battery capacity may be too low for conditions
Reduced runtime or boat
underpowered
Drive dog is too near the stuffing tube
Too little lubrication on drive shaft
Vegetation or other obstacles block the rudder or
propeller
Motor couplers are loose
Transmitter is too near boat during binding process
Boat or transmitter is too close to large metal
object, wireless source or another transmitter
Boat will not bind
(during binding) to
Another compatible transmitter is powered on
transmitter
within range of the receiver
Boat battery/Transmitter battery charge is too low
ESC switch is off
Transmitter is too near boat during connecting
process
Boat or transmitter is too close to large metal
Boat will not connect (after
object, wireless source or another transmitter
binding) to transmitter
Boat battery/transmitter battery charge is too low
ESC switch is off
The boat hull is not completely closed

STEP 3: Set Item Value
After selecting a programmable item, you will hear several
tones in a loop.
1. Move the throttle to full to select the value matching the
tone. The ESC will emit an alternating tone to indicate
selection.
2. Keep the throttle in full to return to Step 2 and continue item

2. Disconnect the battery pack from the ESC.
Solution
Reverse throttle channel on transmitter
Replace damaged parts
Balance or replace propeller
Lubricate flex shafts
Completely recharge battery
Replace boat battery and follow battery instructions
Disassemble, lubricate and correctly align parts
Make sure the battery is warm (above 10º C [50º F])
before use
Replace battery or use a larger capacity battery
Loosen drive shaft side of the motor coupling and move
drive shaft small amount back
Fully lubricate drive shaft
Remove vegetation or obstacles from rudder or propeller
Tighten motor couplers and ensure the coupler is free of
lubrication
Move powered transmitter a few feet from boat,
disconnect and reconnect battery to boat
Move the boat and transmitter to another location and
attempt binding again
Power off all compatible transmitters except the one you
are trying to bind
Replace/recharge batteries
Power on ESC switch
Move powered transmitter a few feet from boat,
disconnect and reconnect battery to boat
Move boat or transmitter to another location and attempt
to connect again
Replace/recharge batteries
Power on ESC switch
Dry out the boat and ensure the hatch is fully closed on
the hull before returning the boat to the water
Move batteries back in the hull
Repair rudder or adjust rudder and rudder trim for
straight running when control is at neutral
Calibrate the ESC
