5. Hood Cleaning and Maintenance
5.1. Hood Cleaning
INTERIOR: Disconnect supply power to the unit.
▪ Remove the Filter Cover (POVH) or open Filter Door (OVH-10).
▪ Remove all the Filters from Hood. Using a mild, non-caustic, bio-degradable, degreaser solution (Giles
recommends Simple Green) and a soft cloth or sponge, clean all surfaces within the Hood Plenum, including the
Filter Channels and EAC Contact Pad.

EXTERIOR: Disconnect supply power to the unit. Use a good quality stainless steel cleaner/polish to clean all
external surfaces, including the underside of the Hood skirt.
FILTER SPACER/DRIP PAN (OVH-10 ONLY):
▪ Remove and clean at least weekly. Lift the Spacer out of the Hood and wash in sink using a mild, non-caustic,
bio-degradable, degreaser, or warm soapy water. Dry thoroughly before replacing in Hood.
▪ The Spacer may be washed in the dishwasher.
Filters: Clean and replace Filters as described in Section 4.2.5, Filter Cleaning and Maintenance.
