Service Diagnostics and Procedures
To avoid risk of electrical shock, personal injury, or death, disconnect gas supply and electrical power to unit
before servicing. After servicing, reconnect electrical power and gas supply.

Spark Module

The unit uses a spark module to supply power for
the igniters. When the surface valve is turned to
the light position, a 120 VAC signal is sent from the
spark switch to the module and voltage is sent to
the igniter generating a spark.
To access the spark module:
1. Access control panel components (see Control
Panel Components Access section, page 19).
Disconnect wires and remove control panel.
Locate spark module cover(s).

3. Remove screws securing module, disconnect
wiring, and remove module.
4. Reverse procedure to reassemble.
Verify 120 VAC input to the module from positions
L1 to N. Output should be position 1 (purple wire),
position 2 (yellow wire), position 3 (blue wire), and
position 4 (orange wire). If voltage is proper and
no spark is present at the igniter, check the igniter,
spark switch, and wiring. If all check good, replace
the module.
See wiring diagrams for correct connections.
