The recommendations described in this document are based on the following
experiences:
Experiences in the field with the FDOOT241-x point detectors from the 'Sinteso'
l
product line
Test reports from HQ Zug
l
Comparative testing from HQ Zug
l
When modernizing a fire detection installation, the ambient conditions such as
room dimensions, deceptive phenomena and ventilation must be taken into
account.
Existing rooms may have experienced a change in use since the fire detection
installation was first commissioned. Check what the room is currently used for
and select appropriate fire detectors. Position the fire detectors at appropriate
points and select a fire detector configuration adapted to the surroundings.
When planning a modernization, the following limitations must be taken into
account:
The following devices can generally not be replaced with a multiple protocol
l
device:
All special detectors
All manual call points
All input/output modules
The multiple protocol detectors cannot generally be used in the housing of air
l
sampling smoke detection kits.
The maximum number of peripheral devices possible per loop must be
l
checked:
Per loop, max. 126 detectors, as of Sinteso MP4.0 max. 252 detectors
For AnalogPLUS, Interactive, or SIGMALOOP: Max. 128 detectors
Note the information provided in document 001508 relating to installation
l
(calculation of the capacity layer). See the chapter 'Applicable documents
[➙ 7]'.
All detectors not replaced must be replaced with detectors from the 'Sinteso'
l
product line when changing over to FDnet.
Limitations exist when connecting external alarm indicators. You will find more
l
information in chapter 'Limitations for the detector families [➙ 14]'.
Only the following topologies are permitted: 'Stub', 'Loop', and 'Sub-stub on
l
loop'. Sub-stub on sub-stub, sub-stub on stub, and several stub branches from
one location are not permitted.
You will find more information about detector compatibility in
l
document 008331. See the chapter 'Applicable documents [➙ 7]'.
