Operation
Figure 3.12 — Diagnostics
The Diagnostics page should look similar to the following. The
status line should say "Gen #x Off-Line" where x is the generator
number (Figure 3.13).
Figure 3.13 — Diagnostics Screen
Press the "Request MAN Mode Parallel" button and the button
name should change to "Cancel MAN Mode Parallel". The genera-
tor will synchronize to the Bus if necessary and connect (Figure
3.14).

After the generator has connected to the Bus, the status will
change from "Gen #x Off-Line" to "Gen #x On-Line". This could
happen immediately or take a few seconds while the generator
synchronizes to the Bus (Figure 3.15).

After all the running generators are connected to the Bus, the
operator must determine what generator power is available and
what the load requirements are. If there is enough power available
for the given permissive to be active, the operator should manually
operate the permissive relay in the PM-SC control box according
to its priority of need. Manually operate the relay for about two (2)
seconds or until the ATS transfers to the emergency bus. (This
time is dependent on the ATS manufacturer requirement). The
operation of the relays is performed in one of two ways. See Figure
3.16 for explanation of how to manually operate relays.
If a generator should shutdown then the appropriate load needs to
be shed to allow the remaining system to function. The operator
must manually shed the required load to protect the MPS from
being overloaded and shutting down.
