Cleaning and care

The wood-burning stove and chimney must be inspected by a chimney sweep annual-
ly. The stove must be cold during cleaning and care.
If the glass is sooty:
• Clean the glass regularly and only when the stove is cold, otherwise the soot will
stick.
• Moisten a piece of paper or newspaper, dip it in the ash and rub the sooty glass.
• Afterwards, rub with a piece of paper so the glass becomes clean.
• Alternatively, use a glass cleaner, which you can obtain from your RAIS dealer.
Clean the exterior using a soft, dry cloth or soft brush.
Before a new heating season, always check the chimney and flue gas connector for
blockages.
Inspect the exterior and interior of the stove for damage, particularly the seals and the
heat insulating plates (vermiculite).
Maintenance/spare parts
Moving parts become particularly worn with frequent use. Door seals are also wear
parts. Only use original spare parts.
At the end of a heating period, we recommend having a service carried out by your
dealer.
Combustion chamber lining
The combustion chamber lining protects the wood-burning stove body from heat
from the fire. Large temperature fluctuations can cause cracks in the lining plates,
although this does not affect the functionality of your wood-burning stove. They only
need replacing when they begin to crumble after several years of use.
The lining plates only need to be inserted or placed in the wood-burning stove, and
can therefore easily be changed by you or your dealer.
Moving parts.
Door hinges and door locks must be lubricated as required.
We recommend that you only use our lubricating spray, as use of other products may
result in formation of odours and residue.
Contact your dealer to obtain the lubricant.

Cleaning the combustion chamber

Remove the ash pan from the stove as necessary, and empty the ash into a non-com-
bustible container until it has cooled. Disposal of ashes occurs via general waste
collection.
REMEMBER!
• never completely empty the ash from the combustion chamber
• the fire burns best with a small layer of ash.
