Using the CX5500 Unified Conference
Station with Skype for Business
When you connect the CX5500 unified conference station to a computer running the Skype for Business or
Lync client, you can access the collaboration capabilities of Skype for Business and Lync voice, video, and
content while automatically tracking the flow of conversation. When the unified conference station is
connected to a computer using a USB cable, you can place, answer, and control Skype for Business and
Lync audio and video calls on the CX5500 unified conference station.
During a call, the integrated cameras capture the entire panoramic view of your conference room, and the
integrated microphones capture the voices of participants at every location around the table. The unified
conference station also automatically shows the person who is speaking during a call, along with a
360-degree view of the other participants in the room.
Note: For Mac OS computers connected to the CX5500 unified conference station, active speaker
view is supported only. The panoramic view of meeting participants is not supported.
The following illustration demonstrates how the panoramic video and microphones on CX5500 unified
conference station works during a conference call when connected to a computer.
