Polycom CX5500 Unified Conference Station for Microsoft Skype for Business User Guide ● Administrator Guide This guide provides detailed information about setting up your network and configuring phone features. ● Regulatory Notice—This guide provides information for all regulatory and safety guidance.
● Audio-only conference calls with Open SIP voice platforms or in a Skype for Business environment. You can also make calls in the Skype for Business client and conference calls on the CX5500 unified conference station at the same time. In this scenario, the audio from both calls is automatically bridged together enabling all callers to communicate with each other.
Using the CX5500 Unified Conference Station as a Conference Phone You can use the CX5500 unified conference station as a full-featured conference phone. When you use the CX5500 unified conference station as a conference phone, you do not need to connect the unified conference station to a computer.
Touchscreen System Indicators and Status The CX5500 unified conference station's indicator lights let you know whether the unified conference station is sending, receiving, or holding audio or video calls. The three microphone indicator lights are located on the three ends of the unified conference station's base, and the active video indicator light is located on the underside of the camera head.

Using the CX5500 Unified Conference Station with Skype for Business When you connect the CX5500 unified conference station to a computer running the Skype for Business or Lync client, you can access the collaboration capabilities of Skype for Business and Lync voice, video, and content while automatically tracking the flow of conversation.
PC, be aware that most extension cables limit the data rate or provide only USB 2.0 performance, even when plugged into a USB 3.0 port. When you connect the CX5500 to your computer using a USB 2.0 port, a warning message stating that your system can run faster displays.
Drag a contact from your contacts list into the conversation window. Answer Video Calls When you receive a call, you see a call notification in the Skype for Business client and on the CX5500 unified conference station that shows who is calling.
The contacts are added to the conference and the call is displayed on the unified conference station. Adjust Audio and Video During a call, you can control the audio volume for calls placed in the Lync client on the CX5500 unified conference station.

When you initiate or join a conference call, the conference participants automatically display in a Roster. The Roster displays eight participants per page on the CX5500 phones. The Roster only displays participants in the conference call; it does not display any calls on hold.
