Noise or distortion occurs when the UA-25
is not connected to your computer
The sound is too weak
Has a mic or guitar been left connected?
If a mic or guitar is connected to the UA-25, disconnect the mic or guitar and turn the
input sensitivity knob all the way toward the left (lowering the input level).
Have you connected the grounding terminal?
Connecting the chassis of your computer or the grounding terminal of your computer's
AC power cord to an electrical ground may solve the problem. Also, make sure that a
device that produces a strong magnetic field, such as a television or microwave oven, is
not located nearby.
Could numerous audio devices be connected?
Noise may occur if numerous audio devices are connected. Do not connect audio
devices you are not using.
Sound is distorted
Is the peak limit indicator lit red?
If you are inputting sound via the combo input jacks, use the UA-25's input sensitivity
knobs to lower the input level.
Sound of a device connected to the input jacks is distorted
Insufficient volume from a device connected to the audio input/output
jacks
Is the input level appropriate?
If you are inputting audio via the combo input jacks, use the input sensitivity knobs
(front panel) to adjust the input level.
If you are inputting audio via the INPUT2 combo input jack, check the setting of the
input impedance select switch.
Is the direct monitor volume set appropriately?
Adjust the volume as described in Direct Monitor Volume (p. 11).
