No sound
Can't record or play back audio or MIDI

Are the volume controls of the UA-25 set appropriately?
Adjust the output volume knob and direct monitor volume of the UA-25's front panel.
Is your audio playback system (e.g., stereo) connected correctly?
Make sure that the UA-25's output jacks are correctly connected using audio cables to
the input jacks of your audio playback system. For details on connections, refer to
"Basic connections" (p. 45).
Did you connect/disconnect the UA-25 while your software was running?
Close all software that uses the UA-25, then disconnect and reconnect the USB cable that
connects the UA-25 to your computer.
If you start up your computer with the UA-25 connected, operation may become
unstable for some computers.
In this case, connect the UA-25 after starting up your computer.
Have you specified the audio and MIDI data output destination in the operating
system?
Depending on the software you are using, you may need to specify the UA-25 as the
audio data output destination for your computer. For details on this setting, refer to
"Driver settings" (p. 26), "Input/output device settings" (p. 34), "OMS settings" (p.
38), "FreeMIDI settings" (p. 41).
Is the driver installed correctly?
In order to use the UA-25 to play back audio/MIDI data, the driver must be installed.
For details on installation and settings, refer to "Driver installation and settings"
(Windows, p. 14 / Mac OS, p. 32).
Are you running numerous software programs?
An error message may appear if numerous software programs are running
simultaneously. If this occurs, close the software you are not using.
In Windows, a program is still running if it remains in the taskbar even after you close
its window; close any unneeded software shown in the taskbar.
Are your input/output devices connected correctly?
In order to play back audio/MIDI using the UA-25, you must make the appropriate
input/output device settings. For details on making these settings, refer to "Driver
settings" (p. 26), "Input/output device settings" (p. 34), "OMS settings" (p. 38),
"FreeMIDI settings" (p. 41).
