10. SIM Card Reader
The MTX-Java-IoT modem is fitted with a SIM card reader designed for 1.8V and 3V SIM cards. It is the
flip-up type which is lockable in the horizontal position and is accessed through a removable panel as
shown below.
The card holder is a five wire interface according to GSM 11.11. It has a SIM card detector switch to
detect whether or not the SIM card drawer is inserted.
Removing and inserting the SIM card during operation requires the software to be reinitialized. Therefore,
after reinserting the SIM card it is necessary to restart the MTX-3G-Java modem.
The full operation of the MTX-Java-IoT relies on a SIM card being inserted. Some MTX-Java-IoT functionality
may be lost if you try to operate the control modem without a SIM card.
