The 8900B is part of the Detection System Model 8900 Series family of systems. The 8900B designation applies to systems

with serial numbers over 89x00700.

The 3M™ Detection System Model 8900B Series deters library item theft by detecting RFID tags in library items, reading the

tag's security status, and alarming if security on the tag is still enabled. The system works with ISO 15693 RFID tags, such as
