INSTRUCTIONS SUPPLIED WITH EACH RESPIRATOR.

FIREFIGHTING CONDITIONS. IT HAS BEEN CERTIFIED TO THE STANDARDS CONTAINED IN THE 2018 EDITION

    This system communicates only with Firefighter Resources (Respirator Users) RESPIRATOR. using a 3M Scott Air-Pak X3 Pro SCBA equipped with the integrated SEMS II Pro. Complete training in the use of the SEMS II Pro equipment is required before actual use in a hazardous environment.

    SEMS II PRO COMPONENTS SEMS II Pro, when added to a 3M Scott Fire & Safety SCBA, consists of a Sensor Module assembly with a battery compartment mounted to the bottom of the respirator backframe, a pressure gauge with transducer, and a Control Console mounted on the wearer’s right shoulder strap at the pressure gauge location.

    CONNECT MONITOR software (Monitor) is designed to provide incident commanders or other responsible parties with critical, real-time information about the 3M Scott Air-Pak X3 Pro SCBA in use on an emergency scene. The application uses the mesh network created by the SEMS II and SEMS II Pro-equipped SCBAs to receive and display air level and alarm information for all SCBA users on a scene.

Install the batteries in the PASS device according to the BATTERY S U P E R V I S I O N , M A I N T E N A N C E , A N D INSTALLATION section of this instruction.

    PRE ALARM If the respirator remains motionless for more than twenty (20) seconds, the PASS device will automatically sound a pre-alarm. When the pre-alarm occurs, the green flashing light on the Control Console is replaced by alternating bright red lights which flash approximately once per second and are accompanied by an ascending/descending audible tone that increases in volume during the pre-alarm cycle.

    PROGRAMMING A PASS DEVICE WITH AN RFID TAG 3M recommends re-programming the PASS device with the RFID card in accordance with your organization's procedures to assure that the user's unique ID number is in use at all times. To program the identification of a PASS device with an RFID Tag, proceed as follows: Verify that the air cylinder is closed and there is no residual air in the system.

    OPERATION AND USE OF SEMS II PRO CONSOLE UNITS Users of 3M Scott Air-Pak X3 Pro SCBAs equipped with the SEMS II Pro Control Consoles must be fully trained in the operation of the equipment as part of a complete respiratory protection program before entering a hazardous environment.

  • Page 14 – WITHDRAW Notification - A user chooses to WITHDRAW by pressing the gray button on the SEMS II Pro Control Console on the SCBA. When this occurs, the WITHDRAW request is sent to the Base Station, which displays "Withdraw Requested" and sounds the WITHDRAW audible alarm.

Refer to the PAK-TRACKER User INSPECTION PROCEDURE EXACTLY.

    REPLACEMENT PARTS AND SERVICE The PASS device is covered by a one year warranty. Consult your authorized 3M Scott representative, distributor or service center as to the availability of service and parts for the PASS device. Replacement batteries of the type designated are commercially available over the counter, from your authorized distributor, and from most industrial battery distributors.
