SYSTEM OPERATION

Initial Start-Up
When the unit is powered on, the snowflake symbol will flash
four times, indicating that the controller is calling for cooling.
The snowflake symbol and fan symbol will then remain
steadily illuminated, indicating that the system is operating.
Set Point
The set point is preset at the factory at 55F°. It can be
adjusted by the customer to temperatures between 50 and
70F° (in 1°F increments).
Indoor Fan Operation
The indoor fan will run when the controller is calling for cool-
ing and turn off once the cooling cycle has ended. If, however,
the customer wishes to raise the relative humidity of the wine
cellar, the "fan on" (Fon) and "fan off" (FOF) functions may be
adjusted.
The FOF cycle should be shortened first. This will reduce the
amount of time that the fan remains off following a cooling
cycle. The Fon setting may then be lengthened to allow the
fan to run longer and reintroduce a portion of the moisture
removed during the cooling process back into the wine cellar.
For more information about Fon/FOF parameters, refer to the
Keypad Functions chart.
Anti-Short Cycle
The Anti-Short Cycle ensures that the unit will remain off for
a period of 5 minutes after the unit has reached the set point.
This allows the pressure in the refrigeration system to equalize
prior to starting the compressor.
Anti-Frost Cycle
The Anti-Frost Cycle is a precautionary measure, as icing or
frosting of the coil does not occur during normal operation.
The system will go through a Anti-Frost Cycle every 4 hours.
During the Anti-Frost Cycle, the indoor fan will provide air
flow across the indoor coil, which will evaporate any frost
accumulation.
Operation in Low Ambient Temperatures
If the Condensing Unit is installed outside (where the unit may
be exposed to low ambient temperatures), the fan may cycle
on and off. The purpose of the fan cycling is to maintain the
system's high side pressure, which will ensure an adequate
refrigeration process.
Bottle Probe Failure Protection
In the event that a bottle probe should fail, the APST (Advance
Product Safety Technology) will automatically transition the
refrigeration compressor cycles to a predetermined timed
ON/OFF series (based on detailed laboratory testing), which
will ensure that the product is kept within a safe temperature
range.

Keypad
The keypad is designed to give the user the ability to adjust
parameters such as set point and Fon/FOF settings. (See
Customer Preference Selection Mode chart for details.)
The bottle probe temperature is displayed by default. "Def" is
displayed during Anti-Frost. The bottle probe and evaporator
probe temperatures can be accessed by pushing the SET
button and scrolling through "PB1" (bottle probe), and "PB2"
(evaporator probe).
Safety Features
Once the compressor relay is de-energized, the controller
must wait 5 minutes before reenergizing the relay. This
prevents the compressor from repeatedly turning off and on. If
the unit is calling for cooling during this time, the compressor
symbol will blink, indicating that cooling is needed but the
control is waiting for the Anti-Short cycle delay.
In the event of a faulty bottle probe, the compressor will cycle
off for 10 minutes and on for 40 minutes. "P1" will be displayed
on the screen.
Alarms
See "Alarm Codes" in the Keypad Functions chart.
