CHANGING ATTACHMENTS

Before changing, adding or removing the chisel tips or the air scaler attachment, turn off the tool and unplug it from its
air source.
1. Choose the appropriate tip depending on the work surface and the material to be cleaned. A chisel tip (22) is
used principally for chipping away welding flux, while the scaler attachment (23) is suitable for lighter residue
removal, such as fine masonry work or removal of paint or rust from metal surfaces.
2. Insert chisel tip (22) shank or needle shank (23) into tool coupler (20), lining up tip retaining ball with the flat
surface on tip shank as shown in Figure 2. With the tip fully seated, rotate coupler (20) a half turn as show
in Figure 3. This locks the tip into the tool while leaving it loose enough to bounce back and forth during
operation. Failure to lock the tip into place could result in the tip being ejected from the tool during use.
3. For needle scaler, ensure that the needle flange (25) with all the needles (24) are seated onto the needle
shank (23). Then place the spring (26) over the needles (24), and the needle housing (27) over the spring
(26). Using the supplied hex key (30), tighten the cap head screw (28) on the needle housing (27) to keep it
from falling off during tool use.
