Internet at the Desktop At the first glance, the snom 200 does not look like a „Voice over IP“ telephone. As a matter of fact, the plastic was taken from a ISDN telephone from Elmeg — a German telephone manufacturer who builds phones for more than 50 years.

2 0 0 U S N O M S E R A N U A L The probability of the account indicates the priority that the proxy should use for finding the account. This is typically used when you register for a common number like 0 in a company.

2 0 0 U S N O M S E R A N U A L Automatic NAT detection will try to find a way to the internet using some automatic checks (UPnP, STUN). If this succeeds, it will setup the necessary parameters automatically.
The first part of the page describes which codec the phone should prefer. The packet size affects the voice delay. Shorter packets cause shorter delay but increase the network traffic. If you are talking over the Internet, long packet sizes are preferrable. snom technology AG • 35...
Page 36
2 0 0 U S N O M S E R A N U A L The negotiation process describes the procedure how the phones negotiate the codecs. Choosing Single make the phone offer only the pre- ferrred codec, so that this codec is enforced for a phone call. Offer/Answer follows the standards as much as possible, and Interoperable tried to fri- endly to all known equipment.
