High Precise Event Timer
Select Enabled to activate the High Precise Event Timer (HPET) to produce periodic
interrupts at a much higher frequency than a Real-time Clock (RTC) does in synchro-
nizing multimedia streams, providing smooth playback and reducing the dependency
on other timestamp calculation devices, such as an x86 RDTSC Instruction embed-
ded in the CPU. The High Performance Event Timer is used to replace the 8254
Programmable Interval Timer. The options are Enabled and Disabled.
General WHEA Confi guration
WHEA Support
Select Enabled to support the Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA) plat-
form and provide a common infrastructure for the system to handle hardware errors
within the Windows OS environment to reduce system crashes and to enhance
system recovery and health monitoring. The options are Enabled and Disabled.
Event Log Confi guration
View Event Log
Use this option to view the System Event Log.
Mark All Events as Read
This option marks all events as read. The options are OK and Cancel.
Clear Event Log
This option clears the Event Log memory of all messages. The options are OK
and Cancel.
Hardware Health Event
This feature is used to monitor system health and review the status of each item
as displayed.
CPU Overheat Alarm
This option allows the user to select the CPU Overheat Alarm setting which de-
termines when the CPU OH alarm will be activated to provide warning of possible
CPU overheat.
Warning! 1.Any temperature that exceeds the CPU threshold tempera-
ture predefi ned by the CPU manufacturer may result in CPU overheat or
system instability. When the CPU temperature reaches this predefi ned
threshold, the CPU and system cooling fans will run at full speed. 2. To
