wooden frame. Approximately
2-1/2" o fthe cabinet should
beinthe room. The rest o fthe cabinet should bepositioned
through and outside the wall. ( See F ig. 2 5.) M aintain proper
slope f orcondensate
drain o peration.
Bottom r ail s hould be
resting firmly onbottom board o fwooden frame.
14. S ecure bottom railtowood frame w ithtwolarge wood
screws (1"long) u sing t he twoholes i nthe bottom ofthe
channel.
(See F ig. 2 6.)
15. T here a rescrew holes i nthecabinet (4each s ide, 4 top)
which a re used t osecure the cabinet tothe wooden frame.
Withthecabinet in itsfinal p osition, drillholes in the
wooden frame u sing thescrew holes i n thecabinet asa
guide. After t he holes h ave b een d rilled, secure the cabinet
tothe wooden frame u sing f ield-supplied
screws. See F ig.
27.
16. C aulk a round wood f rame a nd wall o pening onoutside wall
forawater-tight
seal.
17. O ptional caulking between thecabinet andthewooden
frame m ay b edone o ninside wall. C aulking provides anair
seal around t hecabinet. Decorative
wood trimmaybe
added toprovide amore p leasing
appearance.
18. L iftchassis and carefully slide i t intothe cabinet. Besure
that i tisfirmly seated
towards the rear ofthe cabinet.

MASONRY
CONSTRUCTION
The
air
conditioner
is installed
the
same
way
as
the
Wall
Installation
section
with
a few exceptions.
Follow
all local
and
national
building
codes.
The cabinet
can be secured
to the masonry
by using masonry
nail
or masonry
anchor screws.
Another
installation
technique
would
be to construct
a frame of
2 x 4s and install
the frame
between
the wall opening
and the
cabinet.
The frame must be securely
anchored
to the masonry
wall
opening.
Use a lintel to support
masonry
above wall opening.
Install exterior
cabinet
support brackets.
