Windows Software Installation Make sure the proper driver for your graphics card is installed, the USB 2.0 to HDMI with Audio is not designed to work with Windows' Standard VGA Graphics Adapter driver. Important: Do not plug the USB 2.0 to HDMI with Audio into the computer until instructed to do so.

Windows Vista (32-/64-bit) Insert the driver CD. Close AutoPlay box. Click Start, in the Start Search box, type D:\setup.exe, press Enter. (Change D: to match your CD/DVD-ROM drive letter). At User Account Controls, click Yes or Continue. Select I accept. Connect your second monitor to the USB 2.0 to HDMI with Audio and turn it on.

Connect the USB 2.0 to HDMI with Audio to the computer and the driver will be installed automatically. Restart your system to complete the installation. To Verify Windows Installation From the desktop, right click Computer or My Computer, then click Manage. For Windows 7: Click Device Manager.

Click Yes to complete uninstalling the driver Windows Vista Click Start, Control Panel. Click Classic View, double click Programs and Features. Select DisplayLink Graphics, then click Uninstall, then click Yes. Click Allow. Click Yes to complete uninstalling the driver. Windows XP Click Start.

Windows Display Utility After successful driver installation a USB HDMI Adapter display utility icon will appear in the taskbar by the system clock. This display utility allows you to quickly change the viewing modes and resolutions for the USB 2.0 to HDMI with Audio.

Rotated Right - Rotates the extended or mirrored display by 90 degrees. Upside-Down - Rotates the extended or mirrored display by 180 degrees. • Extend to: Right - Extends the display to the right of the main display. Left - Extends the display to the left of the main display.

• Notebook Monitor Off: Switches off the display of an attached notebook and makes the USB 2.0 to HDMI with Audio display primary. • Mirror: In this mode, the USB 2.0 to HDMI with Audio will mirror your desktop. You will see the same image on both monitors.

• Optimize for Video: Select this option for better movie playback performance on the DisplayLink enabled displays. Only select this option when playing back video content. Note: Text may appear less clear when enabled. • Fit to TV: If the Windows desktop does not completely appear on the TV, this option can be used to adjust the size of the Windows desktop.

Portrait - Sets the display to portrait mode. Landscape (flipped) - Sets the display to upside down landscape mode. Portrait (flipped) - Sets the display to upside down landscape mode. • Multiple displays: Duplicates these displays - Reproduces the main display on the second display. Extend these displays - Extends the main display onto the secondary display.

Display Positions To move the position of a display, click and hold the display you wish to move then drag it to the desired position. The display will be highlighted with a blue border while you are moving the display to its new position. Mac OS Driver Installation Connect the USB 2.0 to HDMI with Audio to an available USB port.

To Verify Driver Installation Double click OS 10.4.X or above volume/ drive icon. Go to System/Library/Extensions folder. If both files DisplayLink Driver.kext and DisplayLinkGA.plugin Extension folder, the USB 2.0 to HDMI with Audio is installed successfully. To Uninstall the Driver Insert the driver CD.

Mac Display Utility After successful driver installation an added icon will appear in the taskbar by the system clock, see Figure 2. This utility allows you to quickly change the viewing modes and resolutions for the USB 2.0 to HDMI with Audio. Access the menu by clicking the icon and select Display Preferences.

Figure 3 Setting the Display Resolutions To change the display’s resolution, select an available resolution from the Display Preferences window of the display you wish to change, see Figure 4 in the next page. The resolutions available depend on both the USB 2.0 to HDMI with Audio enabled product and the capabilities of the connected display.

Figure 4 Rotating a Display If you wish to rotate your display, you can configure the orientation using the Rotate drop down, see Figure 4. Select the appropriate angle of rotation to match your display’s set up. Display Positions To move the position of a display, click and hold the display you wish to move then drag it to the desired position.

Setting the Display to Mirror mode When in Mirror mode, additional displays will display what is being shown on the primary display. Checking the Mirror Displays on the Arrangement pane enables this feature, see Figure Figure 5 Setting the Display to Extend To extend connected displays, make sure that the Mirror Displays on the Arrangement pane is unchecked, see Figure 6 in the next page.

Figure 6 Changing the Main Display You can change which is the main display by moving the Menu Bar between displays. Changing the main display affects where new windows appear and the position of the Dock. The Menu Bar can be moved so that it is shown on an alternative display.
Frequently Asked Questions Q1: How come my open window will not move over to the extended display? A1: Restore down the open window before moving it over the the extended display, also make sure the window is moved completely over onto the extended display.

Q4: Why can't I make the USB 2.0 to HDMI with Audio the primary display? A4: Some video cards ship their product with a utility that prevents other video cards from being set as the primary video card. Check the bottom right hand corner of the taskbar for the utility.
