7.9 Voice Mail / Auto Attendant (Figure 7-7)
The DCS-816 system provides special programming and hardware for a customer-provided Voice
Mail / Auto Attendant (VM/AA) system. All SLI circuits are designed to provide a disconnect signal
required for VM/AA operation. The system requires MDF connection for single line telephones and
all connections can be made through the RJ-45 connector on the base board. See Figure 2-3 and
refer to section 2.5 (MDF Cabling).
Use one pair twisted wires and connect each system/device to the SLI port of your choice via the
RJ-45 connector on the base board.
