Chapter 4:
Workflow Changes for Exchange Servers
This chapter details the workflow changes required to work with Exchange servers as
repositories. Generally, using the IS1200 to work with an Exchange server is not much
different then working with other repositories.
Like other repositories, the Exchange server must first be registered and associated
with a metadata repository. Once registered, an Exchange server must be classified.
Exchange servers can only have deep crawls assigned.
After classification, searches and reports can be performed on Exchange servers just
as they are other repositories. There are no major workflow changes to the search or
reports procedures for Exchange servers in the Web-Search or the Web-Reports GUIs,
but some minor changes are described in the following sections.
After searches and reports are performed, Actionable Services can be applied to
Exchange server results. Those changes are also described below.
The following sections detail the various GUI changes for Exchange servers.
"Classifying Exchange Servers" on page 28
"Searching and Reporting on Exchange Servers" on page 29
"Applying Actionable Services to Exchange Server Search or Report Results" on
page 30
Before continuing in this guide, you should first be thoroughly familiar with the Job
Control and Scheduling: Classification Services chapter of the Kazeon Information

Guide and the IS1200 Web-Reports User Guide.
