Huawei AR530&AR550 Series Industrial Switch Routers
Configuration Guide - Reliability
Context
If a board is removed from a device, the interfaces that reside on the board and are added to be
an interface monitoring group become invalid. These interfaces cannot be unbound from the
interface monitoring group because they do not exist. Deleting these interfaces from the interface
monitoring group is recommended.
Procedure
Step 1 Run the clear monitor-group monitor-group-name invalid-interface { binding | track }
command to delete invalid interfaces from an interface monitoring group.

3.6 Example for Configuring an Interface Monitoring Group

Networking Requirements
As shown in
to connect to the carrier network, and LAN-side Switch1 and Switch2 connect to the two
industrial switch routers. The security enterprise has a large data traffic volume and requires
high reliability. WAN-side devices and LAN-side devices are connected in dual-homing mode
to implement backup and load balancing.
When the link between Router1 and RouterC becomes faulty, there is only one link from
Router1 to RouterA. The user-side switches cannot detect the fault, so they do not switch traffic
to Router2. The switches still send packets to RouterA through Router1. In this case, traffic may
be lost due to traffic overload on Router1.
You can configure an interface monitoring group on Router1 and Router2. When the network-
side link is disconnected, Ethernet2/0/1 on the LAN side goes Down and some traffic is switched
to another device.
Issue 01 (2014-11-30)
NOTE
Before deleting invalid interfaces, confirm that the deletion operation does not cause the trigger-down-
weight value of a track interface to be greater than the sum of the down-weight values of all binding
interfaces. This will cause the interface monitoring group to become invalid.
