and between MSTP root bridge and backup bridge.

As shown in
to SwitchB. VRRP is configured between RouterA and RouterB. RouterA functions as the
master, and RouterB as the backup. MSTP is configured on SwitchA, SwitchB, SwitchC, and
SwitchD. SwitchD functions as the root bridge, and SwitchC as the backup bridge. Generally,
Layer 3 VPN traffic is forwarded through RouterA, and Layer 2 VPN traffic is forwarded through
RouterB. This improves network efficiency. If the link between RouterA and SwitchC fails,
Layer 3 VPN traffic is switched to RouterB in the VRRP group. If the link between SwitchB
and SwitchD fails, Layer 2 VPN traffic is forwarded through the link SwitchB -> SwitchC ->
RouterA. This ensures access reliability.

6.4 Configuration Task Summary

After basic VRRP functions are configured, VRRP can work properly. To deploy special VRRP
functions such as mVRRP and VRRP association, perform the configurations according to the
following sections.
