The warning displays and warning tones may
be triggered as a result of heavy rain, e.g. by wa-
ter running off in the area around the sensors.
Collision warning
Park Assist can detect objects from a con-
siderable distance. If you reverse towards
an obstacle, you will hear a warning. You
must then brake to avoid a collision. The
collision warning does not sound if you are
very close to the obstacle. You will then
hear the relevant warning tone for the
warning display in the rear area.

A collision warning may be triggered as a re-

Deactivating/activating

1 To deactivate/activate Park Assist
2 Indicator lamp
Press button 1.
Park Assist is deactivated if indicator
lamp 2 is lit.
Trailer towing
When you attach a trailer, Park Assist is de-
activated for the rear area as soon as you
have established an electrical connection
between your vehicle and the trailer.

Remove the ball coupling if the trailer tow
hitch is not required. The minimum detection
range of Park Assist to an obstacle refers to the
bumper, not the ball coupling.

Reversing camera*

The reversing camera is an electronic and
visual parking aid. It shows you the area
behind the vehicle, in the COMAND dis-
play. In addition to the camera function, it
assists you by providing guide lines when:
backing up and parking in reverse
parking in parallel
The area behind the vehicle is shown as a
mirror image, as you would see it in the
rear-view mirror.
The reversing camera is located in the boot
lid handle strip.
