Indicator and warning lamps in the
instrument cluster
Problem
The yellow ESP
v
lamp is lit while the en-
gine is running.
The yellow ESP
v
lamp flashes while the ve-
hicle is in motion.

The cruise control, Distronic* or
Distronic Plus* systems are deactivated.
Suggested solutions
Reactivate ESP ® ( page 55). Exceptions:

If ESP ® is deactivated, it will not stabilise the
vehicle if it starts to skid or if a wheel spins.
Adapt your driving style to suit the road
and weather conditions.
Observe the additional messages in the
multi-function display ( page 429).
Drive on carefully.
Visit a qualified specialist workshop as
soon as possible.
Only depress the accelerator pedal as far
as necessary when pulling away.
Ease off on the accelerator pedal while
you are driving.
Adapt your driving style to suit the road
and weather conditions.
Do not deactivate ESP ® . Exceptions:
