    Unlocking with KEYLESS-GO* With the KEYLESS-GO function, you can lock and unlock the vehicle without using the remote control buttons on the SmartKey and start the engine without in- serting the SmartKey in the starter switch. To unlock the vehicle, the SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO must be outside the vehicle, no further than approximately 3 feet (1 meter) away from the door.

When leaving the vehicle, always remove the SmartKey or SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO* from the starter switch, take it with you, and lock the vehicle. Seat adjustment The seat adjustment switches are located on the front doors.

    Getting started Driving Starting the engine Warning! Inhalation of exhaust gas is hazardous to your health. All exhaust gas contains carbon monoxide, and inhaling it can cause uncon- sciousness and lead to death. Do not run the engine in confined areas (such as a garage) which are not properly ventilated.
  • Page 48 Starting with KEYLESS-GO* Warning! As long as the SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO is in your vehicle, the vehicle can be started. Therefore, never leave children unattended in the vehicle, as they could otherwise acci- dentally start the engine. If your foot is not firmly on the brake pedal, the vehicle could accel- erate quickly forward or in reverse.
