Risk of accident
If the vertical guide lines are not yet at the
end of the parked vehicle and you begin to
turn the steering wheel, you could collide
with the parked vehicle.

With the vehicle stationary, turn the
steering wheel in the direction you wish
to park in, until extension guide line 2
intersects vertical guide line 1.

If there is an obstacle within guide lines for
the vehicle outline 3, the parking space is too
small for your vehicle.

If you turn the steering wheel too far, the follow-
ing message appears in the COMAND display:
"Steering wheel turned too far. Please turn
steering wheel back". Turn the steering wheel
back until the display goes out and extension
guide line 2 intersects vertical guide line 1. If
you reverse any further with this incorrect steer-
ing wheel position, the following message ap-
pears in the display: "Steering wheel turned too
far. Park Assist disabled." Drive the vehicle out
of the parking space again and repeat the park-
ing procedure.
Back up, keeping the steering wheel in
the resulting position.
A curved guide line appears after driv-
ing a short distance.

If you turn the steering wheel while backing
up, the following message appears in the display:
"Steering wheel turned too far. Park Assist disa-
bled." Drive the vehicle out of the parking space
again and repeat the parking procedure.
Reverse until curved guide line 1 in-
tersects the limit of the parking space,
e.g. the kerb.
Stop the vehicle.
With the vehicle stationary, turn the
steering wheel in the opposite direc-
tion to full lock.
The guide lines for reversing in a
straight line appear in the COMAND
display.
