does it say the microSD card is damaged or not working?

That's probably because the microSD card's file system is damaged, or because the
Huawei Mate 8 does not support the file system. Right now the Huawei Mate 8 only
supports two kinds of file systems: FAT32 and exFAT. To check your microSD card's
file system, plug the microSD card into your computer via a card reader, right-click on it
and select Properties.
It is recommended that you back up the data on the microSD card, and then format the
microSD card in the Huawei Mate 8 through Settings > Advanced settings > Memory
& storage > SD card > Format. The steps are as follows:
