Huawei Mate 8 Smartphone Feature FAQs
Huawei Mate 8 Smartphone Feature FAQs
7.1.17 Why does the ISO value remain unchanged regardless of
the exposure time in Pro camera mode?
To ensure proper exposure, the ISO value decreases as the exposure time increases. However,
there is a lower limit for the ISO value (64). If the ISO value has already decreased to its
lower limit, it will remain unchanged even when the exposure time continues to increase.
7.1.18 Why do I see noise and black spots on the viewfinder when
I am taking photos at night?
Your phone is able to automatically adjust the ISO value based on the ambient brightness. If
the ambient brightness is low or the environment is dark, the ISO value automatically
increases, magnifying the noise at the same time and showing black spots on the viewfinder.
Currently, this mechanism is adopted on all smartphones.

7.1.19 Does my phone support optical image stabilization (OIS)?

Yes. Your phone supports 3-axis OIS in the X, Y, and Z directions. The maximum stabilization
angle is increased to 1.5 degrees.

7.1.20 Why can't I take good macro photos with my phone?

Please adjust the distance between your phone and the subject, and try not to get too close.
Because the lens has a relatively wide aperture, getting too close to the subject might not
produce the best results. Slightly increasing the distance will help improve the result.
7.1.21 Does my phone support macro shooting? At what distance
can I carry out macro shooting?
Yes. 10 cm.
7.1.22 Why is it that when I take a picture with the flash on,
sometimes one light is on and sometimes two?
When you take pictures, your camera has two flashes: the pre-flash and the main flash. During
the pre-flash, only the cold color temperature light will flash; during the main flash, the
brightness of the cold and warm color temperature lights is determined by the surrounding
light level.

7.1.23 Why are pictures taken by the rear camera blurry?

Please check with users for specific issues. There are three scenarios:
1.
2.
Issue 01 (2016-01-27)
Macro photos are blurry.
Because our product has a relatively wide aperture and a shallow depth of field, getting
too close to the subject can make the photo blurry. Increasing the distance between your
phone and the subject will help improve the result.
Photos taken during normal shooting are blurry.
It is recommended that users take photos after the camera has focused on the subject. If
the problem persists, go to an authorized Huawei service center so the phone can be
checked.
