We recommend you do basic cleaning every time you fi ll the hopper. The fuel in the hopper will last about 3 to
8 days depending on temperature setting.
- Remove the ashtray and sweep the bottom of combustion chamber, dump the ashtray in a metal container
when cooled.
Basic Maintenance
Place ashes in a metal container with a tight lid. Never put it on a combustible surface-fl oor. Keep it away from all
combustibles, pending fi nal disposal. If ashes are buried, keep ashes in a closed container until cooled before burial.
- Burning corn: check the fi re pot for clinker build-up. Make sure that air holes are not clogged.
- Burning pellets: check the fi re pot for ash build-up. Make sure that ash level is not high enough to clog
the air holes.
- Please also check fuel drop chute from time to time, especially when burning corn. Bad corn may cause
starchy build-up in the drop chute.
- We recommend change of fi re pot every time you fi ll the hopper. This is a good practice to increase the life
span of your fi re pots and maintain an effi ciently running furnace for a long time.

CLEANING OF FIRE POT WHEN BURNING CORN
Please keep in mind, corn causes organic clinkers to build-up.
1. Turn off the furnace
2. Let the fi re pot cool down
3. You may be able to handle it with heat-proof gloves in 30-60 minutes.
4. Make sure there is no more fi re in the pot.
5. Remove the ashtray out of furnace by pulling out with its handle.
6. With gloves on, hold the fi re pot fi rmly from the sides, move it upward just a little then pull it out of its place.
put it on side.
7. Put the fi re pot on the ashtray.
8. Unscrew the bolt of bottom plate and slide it to side.
9. Hit the fi re pot on the ashtray bottom a few times to drop built-up clinker
10. Take scrapper tool and hit it on the clinker in the fi re pot. Most of the clinker will drop into ashtray.
11. Submerge the fi re pot into a bucket of water. (Never put hot pot into bucket of water). Let it stay there for
about 4-6 hours. Since it is organic clinkers of corn, most will dissolve by themselves, the rest will soften
and become easily removable just by a soft brush or hand. Then, let it dry before re-installing.
12. Meantime utilize the other fi re pot to re-start your furnace.
